PM’s Appearance Before JIT is a Matter of Shame For PML-N: Imran
Islamabad (June 17, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has said that it should be a matter of shame not applause for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that their leaders were appearing before the Panama JIT on criminal charges.
Hitting out at PML-N for describing appearance of Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf before the joint investigation team probing Sharif family’s finances as a historic event and manifestation of Sharifs’ commitment to rule of law, the PTI chief said that it was not a matter of pride rather shame for PML-N that their leaders, Prime Minister, Chief Minister Punjab and their children, had to appear before the JIT on criminal charges.
In his message on social media site Twitter, Khan termed comparing the PM’s accountability with second caliph of Islam Harzat Umer Farooq (RA) as outrageous.

“It is outrageous that PML-N was comparing corrupt, money laundering, asset concealing, tax evading Sharifs to Hazrat Umar (RA) who is a paragon of honesty and virtue,” Khan tweeted.

It is to be mentioned here that Prime Minister on Thursday appeared before the JIT which grilled him for over three hours. Today Prime Minister’s younger brother Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will appear before the JIT.
